Charlotte County Summer Driver's Education Programs

FREE COUNTY PROGRAM!

General Information

Student must be 15 years old by the beginning of the Class. This driver's education course will be offered one time during the summer.

    1. REQUIREMENTS:
      1. Student must complete the 4 hour Drug, Alcohol, Traffic Education Course.
      2. Student must have in their possession a Learner's Driver License by the start of class.
      3. No Sandals (closed toe, closed heel shoes only), No hats, No Food, No Phones, No Ipods..etc.
      4. Enroll through your public school.

    2. THE PROGRAM WILL PROVIDE:
      1. 6 Hours of Classroom instruction (3 days at 2 hours per day).
      2. 6 Hours of Behind the Wheel instruction (school pick up, approx 12 sessions).
      3. Driving times assigned during Classroom instruction.
      4. 8 - 12 driving sessions over consecutive days.
      5. Eah student assigned a 90 minute driving time between 8:00 - 5:30 (ending).
      6. 1/2 Class Credit.
      7. Preparation for the actual State of Florida road test.
      8. Upon completion - each student will recieve an insurance certificate for the purpose of insurance discounts.
Note: failure to complete required hours of instruction will result in no certificate and no class credit being issued.
